If you love to surf, kayak, paddleboard or snorkel, you’re in luck. Fort Lauderdale has a great spot for all of these water sports. Here are some of the best places in the area for your water fun.
Surfers beware, this is the best place for you in the area. Port Everglades isn’t exactly the easiest place to get to, but it’s worth it. Carry your board about a half-mile through the Harbor Beach area and you will find a place perfect for your surfing fun. This is nearly a secret, but now you know.
If you prefer a little time kayaking, you can find the hottest place in the area to launch at Riverbend Park. This area is full of scenery and beautiful water. Enjoy the inland rivers, streams, lakes and so much more near the park.
Find a little quiet here during the morning or come out to enjoy the sunshine a little later. The lagoons within the park’s interior are full of birds, fish, mammals and alligators.
The park is found at 9060 Indiantown Road in Indiantown, Florida.
Stand-up for a Cause
The Fort Lauderdale area is full of great places for paddleboarding, but before you head out, a trip to Stand-up for a Cause is a great choice. This is a business with all the gear you will need from one of the original paddleboarders of the area.
This has now become a charity and provides free lessons with all-day paddleboard rentals. These are group lessons, but you can get a private lesson for a fee. The charity is based out of 1101 Bayview Drive in Fort Lauderdale.
Red Reef Park
Snorkelers will love this destination in Delray Beach because of the amazing swaying coral and tropical fish. It’s like looking at a computer screen saver, but it’s live. The park is found at 1400 Route A1A.
If you’re looking for water fun, any of these four places can provide exactly what you’re after.
