Fort Lauderdale Home owners and Sellers will start to see their home and condo values improve according to the Wall Street Journal article in the 05/19/2010 issue, written by James R. Hagerty: Home Prices Projected to Begin Rebound in 2011. MacroMarkets LLC surveyed 92 economists who believe that homes values will rise 12%, as measured by the S&P/Case-Shiller nationwide index by December 31, 2014. It is important to note that not all economists believe the upturn in prices. Mr. Gary Shilling expects a decline of about 18% by the end of 2014 according to the article. That index indicates that Nationwide as of December 31, 2009 homes prices are down about 28% from their peak levels which were in mid-2006. Florida levels likely peaked a few months earlier and were down about 38% depending on the location and type of home in the same time period.
