1063 Hillsboro #503Found very close to Fort Lauderdale and just to the north, Hillsboro Beach may be the right destination for you. If luxury living near the water is what you’re looking for, this is one of the top choices in the area.

It started as a small hamlet and was named for the Earl of Hillsborough from the 1700s. He was the original land owner and was given the land by the King of England after returning from service. However, it wasn’t settled until 1922 and didn’t officially become a town until 1939. Even today, this isn’t a huge area with a population under 2,000 residents.

However, it doesn’t take a huge area to provide great waterfront luxury living. Hillsboro Beach is one of the few unspoiled areas in South Florida with beautiful tropical landscaping and beaches. The addresses found here are considered some of the most elite in the entire South Florida area.

Often, a stretch of A1A, in this area is known as the Hillsboro Mile or the Millionaire’s Mile. The homes along this stretch provide some of the largest and most luxurious homes in the area. They are all found near or on the waterfront and provide something you won’t find elsewhere.

Along with single-family homes, Hillsboro Beach is home to many luxury condominiums with oceanfront locations. The condo buildings provide the best amenities in the area and are located close to excellent shopping and dining. Of course, finding a great golf course is very easy in this area, too.

Even though the Hillsboro Beach area is most known for the Hillsboro Lighthouse, it’s a luxury community with plenty to offer. It has become a busier and more populated area in the past few years, but if you’re searching for an unspoiled slice of heaven in Florida, this may be the right place for you.
