The sea turtle nesting season begins in March. There is a Sea Turtle Rescue Program offered at CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort and Spa. This program allows guests to help search the beaches for turtle nests. The eggs are collected and protected from harmful predators. The resort holds and annual turtle release from May through October. During this time, guest can name a turtle and release it.
Padre Island National Seashore
Padre Island National Seashore is an incubation facility. They monitor turtle eggs, identify and collect them. When it is time for the eggs to hatch, this park schedule’s a few dozen release dates where the public can help return the turtles back to their habitat. Cayman Turtle Farm takes turtle breeds that are native to the Island and breeds them, once the baby turtles are born they are released back into the ocean. They Cayman Turtle Farm has released over 31,000 baby turtles.
